CursorFlow Text Not Appearing on PC? A Practical Fix Guide
CursorFlow is built around a simple path: speak on your Android phone, review the text, and send it to the active cursor on Windows. When the text does not appear, the cause is usually one of four things: the devices are not connected, the wrong field has focus, the phone draft was not ready, or the result appeared somewhere other than expected.
Start with a short test sentence
Before changing several settings, open a plain text field on your PC and send a short sentence such as “Testing CursorFlow.” A small test makes it easier to see whether the issue is connection, focus, or the editor you were using.
Check these four points in order
- Confirm the device connection. Make sure the Android phone and Windows PC are on the same local Wi-Fi network and that the pairing flow has completed.
- Open the destination first. Keep the browser, editor, email composer, notes app, or document open on Windows before you send text.
- Focus the exact field. Click inside the body or text field where the words should appear. The active cursor is the destination.
- Review before sending. Check the phone draft, make any small edits, and send only after the text looks ready.
What each symptom usually means
| What you see | First thing to check | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing appears | Phone and PC connection | Reconnect on the same local Wi-Fi network and repeat the short test |
| Text appears in the wrong place | Active cursor | Click the intended field and send one sentence again |
| Words need corrections | Phone review step | Use the phone keyboard for names, links, numbers, and punctuation |
| One editor works but another does not | Editor focus and field behavior | Test a plain field, then check the target app's selected block or composer |
Use the keyboard when precision matters
Voice is useful for a first draft, an explanation, or a longer thought. The phone keyboard is still the better choice for email addresses, URLs, product names, numbers, and final punctuation. A reliable workflow uses both instead of treating voice and typing as competing modes.
When the problem is the destination app
If a short test works in a basic text field but not in a specific app, inspect that app's focus behavior. In Gmail, click the message body. In Google Docs, place the cursor in the paragraph. In Notion, select the block that should receive the text. Then test again with one short sentence before continuing.
For the complete pairing flow, see the guide on using your phone as a microphone for your PC. You can also review the Gmail, Docs, and Notion workflow for editor-specific examples.
FAQs
Why did CursorFlow send text to the wrong field?
The wrong field probably had focus when the text was sent. Click the intended destination, send a short test sentence, and confirm the result before dictating more.
Do the phone and PC need to use the same Wi-Fi network?
The current CursorFlow workflow is designed for the Android phone and Windows PC to use the same local Wi-Fi network.
Can I correct the text before it reaches my PC?
Yes. Review the draft on the phone first, then use the phone keyboard for exact edits before sending the finished text to the active Windows cursor.
What should I test first when troubleshooting?
Use a plain Windows text field and send one short sentence. This separates connection and focus problems from behavior specific to Gmail, Docs, Notion, or another editor.
