How to Send Voice-Typed Text from Your Phone to Your PC Cursor
Cursor Fllow is designed for a simple job: let you speak on an Android phone and send the resulting text to the active cursor on a Windows PC. You keep the phone as the familiar input surface and the PC as the place where the work already lives.
How the phone-to-PC workflow works
- Pair once. Connect the Android phone and Windows PC through the local network direction supported by the current build.
- Choose the destination. Place the cursor in an email, document, browser field, note, or code comment.
- Speak and review. Use the phone as the input surface, then check the resulting text before sending it onward.
- Stay in context. Continue working in the PC app instead of moving the whole task to a separate dictation box.
What makes this different from a basic dictation box?
A basic dictation box gives you text in one place. A cursor-first workflow starts with the place where the text needs to go. That distinction matters when you are writing an email, filling a form, editing a note, or leaving a comment inside an editor.
| Workflow question | Cursor Fllow direction | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Where does text go? | The active Windows cursor | Target field accepts text input |
| Where do you speak? | The paired Android phone | Microphone and app permissions |
| How do devices connect? | Local Wi-Fi pairing | Both devices use the same network |
What to check before relying on it
- Both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network when required.
- The Windows and Android permissions requested by the current build are enabled.
- The target application accepts text input at the active cursor.
- The selected language and punctuation behavior match your writing needs.
- You review text before sending sensitive or high-stakes messages.
Privacy boundaries
The current product direction is phone-first recognition with resulting text sent to the paired PC. Treat that as a product direction, not a guarantee for every future build. Review app permissions and release behavior before using it with sensitive information.
FAQs
Does this replace my PC keyboard?
No. It is an additional input path for moments when speaking or phone-based editing is more convenient.
Does the phone need to stay near the PC?
It depends on the local Wi-Fi network and the pairing behavior of the current build.
Can I use it in any Windows application?
The goal is to send text to common active fields. Test the specific application before depending on it for critical work.
